As a University of Iowa alumnus, Edudzi T. Etsey, commonly known as Eddie, has over 20 years of IT Service Management and Customer Service experience. In his work, Eddie is known as a tirelessly positive individual who will go out of his way to offer assistance. His innovative and creative problem solving skills have aided him in developing processes, designing workflows, improving efficiencies, and leading several key projects within the University and its communities as well as internationally. His focus on bringing people together to solve problems and learn from one another helps make our communities a more welcoming place.
Beyond his work, Eddie is dedicated to caring for the well-being of others, including colleagues, employees, and students. His passion for education and promoting diversity and intercultural awareness has landed him many nominations for awards, including the 2009 David J. Skorton Staff Excellence Award for Public Service and the 2014 Board of Regents Staff Excellence award winner.
In the community, Eddie works diligently to advocate for those without a voice and empowers the youth. His involvement in the community ranges from serving as a job coach for people with disabilities, serving on the Board of Directors for CommUnity (formerly Crisis Center), to leading groups internationally for service projects such as setting up a library, providing school supplies to children and working with Nonprofits in Ghana, West Africa. In his work as an advocate and philanthropist, Eddie brings a lot fun and energy to all he does.

Mary Wilson is a professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Microbiology at the University of Iowa. As a medical student she worked in a small hospital in Sierra Leone, West Africa, an experience that inspired her to devote her career toward the goal of improving the health of individuals living in low income nations. She strives to inspire young physicians- and scientists-in-training to devote themselves also to the goal of improving Global Health by helping them arrange short-term experiences working in a health care setting in low-income nations.
Retha Haas is the Director of Resident Relations at Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City, IA. She enjoys reading, traveling, volunteering at her church, bicycling and camping with her husband Ray.
One of her rules of life is to see people as created and loved by God, and do small things with great love.
Retha is also the Treasurer and Fundraising coordinator for Eddies Teddies Inc.
As the Director of Project Management, Curtis is passionate about helping individuals and organizations to effectively leverage their resources to drive personal and business results through project management.
He loves to travel, meet people of diverse backgrounds, promoting a healthy lifestyle with others and he enjoys spending time with family and friends.
As an elementary school principal, Annette enjoys empowering students and adults to reach their highest potential in all aspects of life. Her greatest passion is understanding the background that every student and staff member brings to the table and creating a system that supports each individual and the whole school community. Aside spending her days helping her students and staff achieve success, she is active in many outdoor activities including running, biking, hiking, and gardening.
Coronda is passionate about serving children, families and communities that have been traditionally underserved. She is an academic program manager and has used her skills and experience to bring help connect people to much needed resources. Coronda values integrity, honesty, accountability and treating everyone with dignity and respect.
As a special adviser to the board, Josh is passionate about young people. He believes that keeping a steady tradition of providing both materially and through guidance a better version of what we received or lacked, we stand a great chance of building a better future. We can achieve that by making the most of every opportunity, taking one step at a time and one child at a time.
Dr. (Mrs.) Kafui Felicia Etsey is a Language Arts and literacy expert at the Basic school level (K-9), a Reading clinician, an Early childhood expert, a teacher-educator, and a retired senior Lecturer in the Department of Basic Education, University of Cape Coast. Dr. Etsey has been a consultant to many international nonprofits and local projects. Her most recent consultancy was her work as a Senior Reading Specialist with the GILLBT and USAID Partnership for Education:Learning activity. The 5-year Ghana Learning intervention supporting the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service (MOE/GES) to improve performances in reading for pupils in Kindergarten to Primary 2. She loves children and is always excited to work with them. Her passion is to see children develop all the potentials that their Creator has invested in them.
As Board Secretary, Miranda is passionate about teaching and inspiring students both in the United States and across the globe. She is especially enthusiastic about helping kids and their parents dream and set these dreams in to motion. She loves helping kids discover their potential and worth. In Miranda’s free time she loves to learn new things, read, and spend time with family and friends. She believes that we rise only by lifting others.
